Again Google has taken the good portion of pie in the widely used utility. Yes it is this URL shortner. Though it is launched way back in September, now in Jan 2011 Google has come out with API. Programmers can shorten and expand urls programatically using this API. Thats a great news for web application developers in social network area. Programmers need not look into any other third party tools / components for this utility. This comes with Google's reliability stamp.
